The nation already seemed headed for heck in a handbasket, but comes now Indiana state Republican Rep. Bob Morris, father of six girls, who claims Girl Scouts of America is sexualizing millions of young members and threatening
the family fabric of the country.

Morris, owner of a Fort Wayne area nutrition store chain refuses to sign a cngratulatory resolution honoring GSA's 100th anniversary and urging other officials to join him. And here it is GSA cookie sale month, for Heaven's sake.

He claims an unholy alliance exists between Planned Parenthood which e says has infiltrated GSA founded a century ago by the venerable Juliette Low,
to advance an agenda of the gay lifestyle, reaching up to the White House. First Lady Michelle Obama is GSA's honorary president.

That fact alone should "give pause" to elected officials considering honorary congratulatioms to the group giving an alternative to Boy Scouts, founded by that verable Brit, Sir Robert Baden-Powell, Morris declares.

Girl Scout leaders are aghast and deny their regiments of adolescent girls in green unifoms with merit badge sashes are being mobilized to undermine American morality and family life. Few legislators are in lockstep with Morris, who had two daughters in Girl Scouts. He says he transferred them to "an anti-abortion " troop,
but have since joned a conservaive Christian alternative organization.

Fellow legislators find those delicious Thin Mint and Samoa cookies go down easier than Morris' broadside, widely covered by Midwest media.

Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosmer ridicules Morris and says he has bought 287 boxes of Thin Mints to share with legislators as good-natured damage control.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana CEO Betty Goodrum calls Morris' warning "inflammatory and woefully inaccurate."

Morris claims of the 50 role models Girl Scouts study, "Only three mentioned a religious background and the rest are feminists, Lesbians and communists."

Questioned about sources and attribution for his far-ranging diatribe, Rep. Morris said he just did "A small amount of Internet research."

Michigan's Primary Feb. 28 is heating up as Rick Santorum's percentage drops and Texas' scrapper candidate Ron Paul is unleashing a few spot ads calling his bluff as a "fake conservative," citing a voting record afield of cherished GOP tenets.

Congressman Paul, a physician, wants to doctor the former Pennsylvania Congressman's image with an ad fearuring a sign with an arrow pointing to
Santorum labeled: "Is This Dude Serious?"

Paiul surely embraces the lingo of the younger generation that strongly supports him. You won't catch Newt Gingrich calling a rival "dude," but at 76, Paul tries to tell it like it is, avoiding the effete and orotund speaking style of other candidates.

The text of the ad released by Paul's national campaign director Jesse Benton pulls no punches.

He cites facts that Santorum voted five times to raise the U.S. debt ceiling supported the "No Child Left Behind program; the Part D Medicare plan paying for seniors' medications and even voted to give foreign aid to Egypt.

"Satorum cites his fiscal conservative record all too often," Benton declared. It is time his real record makes its way into the conversation we're having over who is the true conservative," said Benton. "That man is Ron Paul."

Santorum clings to his claim of being the only true conservative in the race, but after lagging in the polls, then gaining more momentum, he is becoming more strident on issues involving religion, birth control, abortion and other personal matters best left to personal conscience than governmental authority.

Despite long range doubts that he could somehow secure the nomination despite the money and strategy experts arrayed in the four-man race, some fear if Santorum might pull it off, America faces an evangelical taliban in charge.

How many of you noticed that gas prices are going up? The White House put out a statement this morning, “there are no magic solutions for high gas prices”. Actually there is. The magic is in how they are driving the prices up and not wanting them to come down. The current administration has used the “Gulf Spill” as a convenient excuse to eliminate all offshore drilling at the same time granting a loan to Brazil for oil exploration in the southern gulf and then promising that the US will be their biggest buyer! Brazil is one of the few nations is the world that is solvent, why did we loan them money that we don’t have? Within days of his inauguration, President Obama canceled large lease assignments, on Federal Lands, that were intended for drilling of natural energy resources. This took thousands of acres of known energy reserves out of production. The Administration has killed the Keystone Pipeline, which not only would have generated thousands of jobs, but also left our good neighbors to the north with the only viable option which is to sell all of that oil to China. All of this is designed to force us to expand and use unreliable and even more expensive “green energy” products. Having said all of this, in 2012, the number one exported product from the US will be gas and oil products. That’s right, we are spending record prices for oil to be imported to the US, and we refine it and ship it out. Anybody else see anything wrong here?

The last item on the agenda today? About Iran, Israel really wants some backing from the US to help quell the beast and what do we do? More sanctions and ask for more time. A little known secret here, well, not little known if you pay attention, other than Syria and Hamas, none of the Middle Eastern Countries want Iran to have the “bomb” either. Iran with a nuclear weapon does not equate to stability, not in anybody’s world. Israel knows it is going to be very tough for them to act alone and yet they will if they have to. This will unleash a hailstorm of violence against Israel where as if they had the support of the US what could be a protracted war will end up being a manageable mission.

I’m in no way advocating for another war. I don’t think we need to have a war with Iran to defeat the current rulers. The Iranian people are much different than the people in Afghanistan. They are well educated and smart people. Most would love to see their country in the hands of moderates that would make them a very rich and powerful player in the world market. If given the chance and support, they will rise to the occasion and change their country.
